Treading the Boards

Wickersley student Christopher Thorpe (8R) swapped the classroom for the Civic Theatre stage last week starring in the role of Zach in The Rotherham Rep’s sell-out production of Goodnight Mr Tom.

Zach finds himself evacuated from London with the other children as part of the war effort, moving to Little Weirwold in Dorset. Zach is the ever-cheery, comedic companion of leading boy William, who fancies himself as a budding actor. Christopher brings superb energy to the role as a vivacious character who warms every heart in the house with his positive outlook despite the backdrop and sadness of war. The Wickersley Drama Department is immensely proud of Christopher!

Wickersley 6th form alumnus, Leah Keys, also stars as Sammy the Dog with an outstanding display of puppeteering.
